I agree with those who supported Jackson as a symbol of popular democracy; First Jackson believed in universal suffrage. He felt the common man was being swindled by the upper class. He was a people’s president, the first to grow up in a log cabin. Jackson knew that the Second Bank of the United States was much too powerful and it had become corrupt. It only helped the rich all it did for the poor was take advantage of them. It served mainly to make the rich richer. Jackson stuck up for all the people of the United States and did what he felt would help all of America not just the rich. He refused to let the poor be taken advantage of I think this resembles popular democracy. I think essentially deep down Jackson was just an avg. American citizen himself a real peoples president.
